The National/Alamo brand of Enterprise Mobility has an exciting opportunity for an Automotive Technician.  The Automotive Technician performs car service, repair, preventive maintenance, in-fleeting service, and vehicle reconditioning service according to company policy and procedures. This position requires the exercise of reasonable judgment and initiative. Performs all responsibilities with a focus on the needs of our customers and in accordance with our Quality Standards.

Our airport-based Service Center offers a steady, high-volume workload without the uncertainty of flat-rate or commission pay. You're compensated for every hour you work - including training and diagnostics.

 

 

Reliable Hourly Pay + Certification Bonuses

  • Starting Pay: $32 / hour (includes 4 ASE certifications)
  • Certification Bonus: $1.25 / hour - $2 / hr for each additional ASE (up to a 14 total)
  • Total Potential Pay Range: $32 - $46 / hr depending on shift and certifications
  • Overtime available based on business needs

The pay for this position starts at $32 / hour. In addition, you can earn an additional $1.25 / hour for ASE certifications after the required minimum of 4 (up to 14 in total). L1 and L3 pay an additional $2 / hour. Employees can increase pay up to $46 / hr and have the opportunity to earn yearly merit increases based on performance.

 

This position is located at our Service Center: 865 Old Albany Shaker Rd Latham, NY 12110.

Responsibilities

We are hiring now for immediate openings.  Responsibilities include:

  • Ensure that all repairs and preventative maintenance are completed according to the manufacturers specifications and guidelines.
  • Complete required manufacturer's training and perform warranty and recall repairs.
  • Complete ADA installs as required upon completion of training.
  • Maintain vehicle repair history by documenting a Repair Order to accurately reflect steps taken and part(s) used during the repair.
  • Provide safe and reliable vehicles upon completion of repairs and preventative maintenance.
  • Comply with part and inventory tracking procedures.
  • Utilize multiple manufacturers’ websites, software and diagnostic tools.
  • May process new fleet, LOFR, tires, fuel reclamation or buy-backs. 
  • Maintain the work area in a safe and clean condition.
  • Requires ability to perform manual labor, such as, bending, kneeling, crouching, lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Moderate physical activity which requires handling of objects up to 50 pounds with long periods of standing and walking.
  • Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Two years of mechanical experience in an automotive repair shop servicing current model vehicles required.
  • 4 current and valid ASE certifications or OEM training/certification required
    • Hire with manufacturer training with agreement of obtaining 4 ASE certifications within 12 months of hire
  • Must have an AC Recycle Certificate
  • NYS Motor Vehicle Inspector license (preferred, but required within the first 90 days of employment)
  • Requires ownership of standard hand tools to perform repairs and maintenance on current vehicles (produced in the last 5 years)
  • Must have experience using repair shop testing and service equipment
  • The ability to operate a motor vehicle is an essential function of this position. Applicants must have a valid, unrestricted U.S. driver's license
  • Understanding of GM, Ford, Toyota, and Chrysler warranty procedures is a plus
  • Must be able to complete a pre-employment drug test and will be subject to random drug and alcohol testing
  • Aside from religious observances, must be available to work an average of 40 hours per week, including weekends
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and not require work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak English
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Must have a high school diploma or GED
